I cannot understand the almost fatalistic response to the crisis by our policy makers. They seem to start from the perspective that major economic damage is unavoidable. This is admitting defeat from the outset. Compare these two items below frrom last Tuesday’s Financial Times, March 24th an article about UK Chancellor Rishi Sunak and a letter of mine that was published the same day. The economic shock is around 10% perhaps 15% of our national income. That is not too much money wise to mobilise. We have enough resource to save every job and every business. Don’t think otherwise.
